Donald Trump referred to his first wife as "a fantastic, beautiful, and remarkable woman, who had a tremendous and inspirational life" in a statement that was uploaded on Truth Social.

The Trump family announced in a statement that Ivana Trump, the first wife of the late president Donald Trump, has passed away at the age of 73.

After the divorce, she continued to be well-known and capitalised on her notoriety by starring in commercials for well-known companies and starting a cosmetics line called Ivana Haute Couture.

After Trump was elected president, she caused controversy by referring to herself as the "first lady" in an interview with ABC News.

Ivana Trump made a formal rape accusation against him after their breakup in the early 1990s. Later, she clarified that she didn't mean it literally and instead meant that she felt abused.

Ivana Trump, however, claimed to have had a cordial relationship with her ex-husband in recent years, telling ABC News in 2017 that they spoke around every two weeks 

Ivana Trump contributed to the construction of Trump Tower in New York, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and other real estate projects 

Ivana and Donald Trump were a prominent couple in New York in the 1980s until their divorce, which was equally public and contentious once Donald Trump met his subsequent wife.

She was born and raised in the communist-run former Czechoslovakia before leaving in the 1970s. In 1977, she wed Trump, her second husband.
